Matthew Crescio, Member

Matthew J. Crescio is currently serving his second term on CEC24 and is a proud parent of twins attending PS229. As a passionate advocate for all constituents, Matthew is deeply committed to school safety, ensuring the well-being of every student, and expanding access to specialized educational programs across District 24.

One of Matthew’s most significant accomplishments includes identifying a site for a District 75 school within the district and working tirelessly to get it operational, providing critical resources for the D24 community. To better understand the unique needs of each school, he has personally visited every school in the district—an effort matched by only one other CEC24 member. These visits were instrumental in tailoring advocacy efforts to address the specific challenges faced by individual schools.

Matthew’s unwavering dedication has led to numerous advancements in school safety. His advocacy ensured that all city schools in the district are now securely locked during operational hours, that school safety agents are equipped with upgraded technology and protective gear, including body vests, and that security camera systems have been enhanced to provide a safer learning environment.

Additionally, Matthew has championed the expansion of specialized educational programs, creating more opportunities for students to thrive. He works closely with and supports the efforts of the District 24 team, always advocating for all constituents, regardless of which school their child attends.

Matthew’s work reflects his deep passion for creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive educational environment—not only for his own children but for every child in the District 24 community.
